Yamaha has just announced an updated version of their very popular Yamaha YAS-101 sound bar. The re-vamped model will be dubbed the Yamaha YAS-103 and will essentially be identical to the YAS-101 with a couple of notable changes. The 103 will now include bluetooth and also add an analog input which we felt was sorely missed when we reviewed the YAS-101.

The inclusion of bluetooth now brings the Yamaha YAS-103 up to speed with some competitor models. Bluetooth will allow users to wirelessly stream music to the sound bar from a smart phone or tablet and make use of Yamaha’s proprietary control app that’s available for Android and iOS devices.

Internally the Yamaha YAS-103 will be basically the same as the 101. It will feature 2 internal down-firing subwoofers, 2 full range drivers and offer DTS and Dolby decoding. We enjoyed the time we spent with the 103’s predecessor and are eager to take the 103 for a test drive. The Yamaha YAS-103 is expected to be available sometime in February at a suggested MSRP of $299.
