Sonos has announced that their latest software version, 5.2, is now available for public beta. The update adds several performance and account improvements.

The updated software will offer improved stereo imaging for the Sonos Play Bar and also offer improved EQ and volume balance. The new software update also includes the ability to create multiple user accounts. This allows users to individualize their listening experience.

In addition to the above features, the 5.2 software update will give users the ability to control their Sonos device from the lock screen of their Android smartphone or tablet. Users will also have the ability to search across multiple music sources for their favorite tunes.

A beta¬†software update is currently available for Android devices and through the Sonos Desktop Controllers for Mac and PC. The final software release is expected to be available later this year. Anyone who’d like to take the new 5.2 beta for a spin can find more information here.
