Sharp has just announced the availability of their new Aquos UD27 line of TVs. Sharp’s new sets have passed THX’s stringent 4K certification process meaning that they were subjected to more than 400 picture quality tests.

The 60-inch LC-60UD27U has a suggested MSRP of $3200 and the 70-inch LC-70UD27U has a suggested MSRP of $4400. However, it would appear that many retailers are offering them for much less. Both models include 4 HDMI 2.0 inputs and incorporate Sharps Revelation Upscaler which is capable of upscaling HD content up to 4K-Ultra HD. These two models also use what Sharp is calling Aquo Dimming Technology which analyzes and adjusts the picture contrast of each of it’s more than 8 million pixels on the fly.

 

The UD27 series features Sharp’s Spectros Rich Color Display which provides a 21% wider color gamut than traditional LED TVs. According to Sharp, this allows the UD27 sets to provide more color than any other Sharp television.

 

Both the 60-inch LC-60UD27U and the 70-inch LC-70UD27U make use of Sharp’s SmartCentral 3.0 which allows you to not only search for your favorite shows on various streaming services such as Netflix, but it also allows you search your local cable/satellite provider as well.

 

Anyone looking to feast their eyes on Sharp’s new offerings can find them available at retailers today.
