Polk pulled back the curtain on another entry into their home theater line-up, the Polk MagniFi Sound bar. Let’s face it, with all of the sound effects and ear candy on TV some times vocals can be drowned out and practically become unintelligible. Polk’s MagniFi sound bar aims to rectify that situation.

Polk’s been in the sound business for decades, and if anyone can come up with a solution to an age old problem they can. The Polk MagniFi uses three 1″ full range drivers with the center channel designed to receive a higher percentage of the bandwidth. Since the majority of vocals are produced via the center channel, the end results are vocals that sound clearer and more precise.

Polk MagniFi Subwoofer

With it’s included wireless subwoofer, which houses a 7-inch driver, the MagniFi is listed as having a frequency response of 40Hz-20kHz. The MagniFi uses Polk’s Full Complement Bass Drive Technology and tuned ports to provide a smooth mid-range and seamless blend with the subwoofer.

In a world where most home theater equipment gives you an overabundance of connection inputs, Polk has decided to take the opposite approach with their new sound bar. The MagniFi has a slim amount  of connectivity options with only one optical digital input, a 3.5mm analog input, and a Bluetooth wireless connection with aptX. The MagniFi  also has the ability to decode Dolby Digital®, including Dolby Digital 5.1 and 2.0.
