Google has just announced the addition of 10 more apps to it’s diminutive Chromecast. Recent months have seen a deluge of streaming “sticks” which are in direct competition with Google’s Chromecast. As such, it’s more important than ever that Google keeps adding to the Chromecast’s arsenal.

The most notable additions to Chromecast’s line-up are the inclusion of Showtime Anytime and Starz Play. With the recent spate of television broadcasters, including NBC and HBO, announcing their plans to move to “direct to user” subscription models, it’s no surprise that both Showtime and Starz are now beginning to move in that direction as well. The addition of these two cable titans gives cordcutters the ability to watch hit shows like Showtime’s “The Affair” and “Homeland”.

Chromecast has also increased it’s game library by adding Wheel of Fortune, Monopoly Dash, Scrabble Blitz, Connect Four Quads, Simon Swipe, Just Dance Now, Big Web Quiz and Emoji Party. To play these games no additional controllers are needed. Anyone with an Android or iOS smartphone or tablet can join in on the fun.

Google has also made navigation simpler by adding category tabs to the chromecast.com apps page for TV & Movies, Music & Audio, Games, Sports, Photos & Video, and more.
