There has been a noticeable divide among Bose’s headphone offerings. On one side sets Bose’s wired noise cancellation cans which isolate you from the surrounding world. On the other side stands Bose’s wireless phones like the SoundLink IIs which give you great sound quality minus the wires. That’s about to change. Bose has finally decided to combine the two. The end result is the Bose QuietComfort 35 over-ear headphones and the in-ear QuietControl 30 ear buds.

Bose has focused hard on trying to make the QuietComfort 35’s sound match their wired counterparts. If you’re familiar with the sound quality of the wired QuietComfort 25s then your ears will feel right at home with the QC35s.

The noise cancellation features are facilitated by microphones placed outside and inside the ear cups along with a dedicated chip for both the left and right sides.  The right ear cup has controls for power, playback, volume, and answering/ending phone calls.  Bose states that you can expect to get about 20 hours on a single charge. Squeezing a few extra hours out of them may be possible if you plug them in since this turns off the QC35s built-in bluetooth.

The Bose QuietControl 30 ear-buds kick-up the noise cancellation features up a notch by employing 6 microphones. The QC30s also allow you to adjust the amount of noise cancellation. The phones use a collar design along with a standard in-line remote for controlling playback, volume, answering/ending phone calls and adjusting the noise cancellation. Bose also has a smartphone app that allows you to adjust the QC30’s noise cancellation feature on your phone. The QC30s have roughly half the battery life of the QC35s at only 10 hours.
