Amazon’s Echo, Dot and Tap have been a surprise hit. To Amazon’s credit, they’ve aggressively been working with third party manufacturers to help imbue their products with Amazon’s voice activated personal assistant Alexa. It would appear that another electronics giant is ready to jump on the bandwagon. On Monday, Yamaha announced that Alexa would be landing on MusicCast this fall.

Alexa will appear on more than 40 Yamaha MusicCast products after a firmware update later this year. Amazon’s Echo, Dot, Tap, and Fire TV will also be equipped with a new Alexa Skill that will add MusicCast commands. Once you’ve updated your MusicCast and Amazon products, you’ll be able to bark orders at your speakers to control music playback and other functions.

Yamaha has a wide variety of MusicCast equipped offerings such as AV receivers, soundbars and speakers so there’s no shortage of audio/video equipment to choose from. Yamaha hasn’t given an exact date as to when the update will occur, but if you’re interested you can take a peek at Yamaha’s website for more info.
