Amazon Ultra HDAmazon has announced that it plans on shooting all of it’s current original programming  and future pilots in 4K Ultra HD resolution.  Roy Price, director of Amazon Studios said in a statement, “We think customers are going to love watching these series in the highest resolution ever available to consumers, and we can’t wait to deliver it.” Price continued by saying, “As a premium original content creator, we’re excited about 4K and the future of Ultra HD technology, particularly as we move into drama series next year.”

Amazon Studios is currently prepping 5 new pilots for next year including  “The After,” which is written and directed by “The X-Files” creator Chris Carter and  “Bosch,” which is based on Michael Connelly’s best-selling Harry Bosch book series. The pilots will be available exclusively on Prime Instant Video. As they’ve done with past pilots, Amazon will let viewers decide which shows to pick-up.

Amazon has yet to divulge how they plan on delivering 4K content to their consumers. Up until this point Ultra HD content has not been readily available.
