It’s no secret that Sony’s electronics division has been struggling the past few years. In what may be a sign of the electronic giant’s continuing decline, on August 28th Sony’s online store will stop taking orders.

The message on Sony’s online store reads:

As we evolve our US business, Sony Store Online will stop taking orders at 1pm (PST), August 28, 2015. We’re working with our Retail Partners to bring new Sony experiences to shoppers across the nation in store & online. We’re excited to share the launch of our new electronics product site with you soon!

The shuttering of the online store follows on the heals of Sony closing its 20 Canadian retail locations and 9 of its 10 U.S. company stores.

However, reading the above message, it does appear that there is a glimmer of hope. Sony is apparently working on an updated electronics site so we’ll have to wait and see what they have in store. Anyone hoping to place an order should do it before August 28th. Order status info will be available on the site until October 2, 2015.
