Pioneer’s been on a roll lately with their budget friendly yet great sounding speakers. We demoed their Andrew Jones designed  SP-BS22-LR  bookshelf speakers a few months ago and came away pleasantly surprised with their sound reproduction. Hoping to expand their speaker offerings, Pioneer is set to release a new speaker base this October, the SP-SB03.

The bluetooth enabled SP-SB03 features a solid wood composite construction. Inside it’s intimidating exterior lurks two 4-inch woofers, two 3-inch mid range drivers, and two 1-inch soft dome tweeters. With it’s six internal drivers, it’s capable of outputing 168 watts of total power.

We’re very curious to see if Pioneer is able to continue the current streak it’s been on. With a suggested MSRP of $349, the SP-SB03 isn’t cheap. However, with Pioneer’s ability to get the most out of small speakers, we have no doubt that the SP-SB03 will sound far superior to any television speaker and in turn will reveal itself to be one of the best values in home theater.
