Onkyo is one of those company’s that routinely puts tons of features in their a/v lines at an affordable price. One of the features that many have craved for is built-in WiFi. Last years Sony STRDN1030 was one of the few mid-range receivers that incorporated built-in WiFi. Well this year you can add Onkyo’s 727 and 626 to the list of a/v receivers that will incorporate built-in WiFi. The 727 and 626 will also both boast video upscaling to 4K. The Onkyo 727 will sport 8 HDMI ports, while the 626 will feature 6. Along with the 727 and 626, Onkyo will also be launching the Onkyo 525. The 525 is a curious receiver. Based on naming conventions, the Onkyo 525 appears to be the successor to the 515 but in realty it is probably the successor to the Onkyo 414. Both of these are 5 channel receivers, however the 525 has a 2nd LFE out for a 2nd subwoofer. It also incorporates Audyssey MultEQ room calibration where as last years 414 had none.
