Onkyo is well known for its AV receivers, however, in recent years they’ve been slowly delving into the speaker market. Onkyo’s newest Bluetooth speaker, the NCP-302, was announced a few months ago and has finally landed on store shelves. Based on what we’ve seen, the compact speaker’s main selling point may be its ample list of streaming options.

The Onkyo NCP-302 is available with a black or white finish. The angular wooden cabinet has a retro vibe that’s become trendy nowadays. Inside the box are dual 3″ drivers and a 1″ balanced dome tweeter. The top-mounted controls allow you to play, pause, fast-forward, and rewind music tracks.  The speaker also comes with an input select button and a large volume knob.

The NCP-302 includes Bluetooth, dual-band WiFi, and Apple AirPlay as well as an ethernet jack and a 3.5 mm input. The real stars of the show with this speaker are its multi-room audio capabilities. The 302 is a triple threat. It has Chromecast built-in, supports DTS Play-Fi, and is compatible with FireConnect. Chromecast and Play-Fi give you great flexibility since you can mix and match different brands of speakers with these systems. FireConnect currently only works with other FireConnect compatible devices.

You also get an impressive amount of internet music streaming options with the Onkyo NCP-302. Spotify®, TIDAL, Deezer, Pandora®, and TuneIn are all available from the get-go.

The Onkyo NCP-302 is available now at various retailers.
