One of the hottest things in home tech right now is voice activated, smart speakers. Amazon’s Echo ignited this product category and now we’re seeing the likes of Samsung, Apple and even Google jockeying for a position in your living room.  Now, Harman Kardon is the latest to join the fray with the announcement of their new smart speaker the Allure.

Like the Echo, the Allure responds to voice commands thanks to the Alexa virtual assistant. If you say “Alexa Play Music”, your tunes will begin playing from the Allure speaker. Along with this, Harman’s newest speaker can be used to control your smart home devices and give you the latest news and weather updates. You can also activate and use any of the thousands of Alexa Skills which are currently available.

According to Harman, the Allure boasts 360-degree sound which means there won’t be a bad seat in the house when you’re listening to the speaker. Along with its Omni-directional sound, the Allure also has one more trick up its sleeve. The top of the speaker is made of a translucent plastic that lights-up. The multicolor ambient lights bounce to the beat of whatever music you’re playing and also react to your voice commands.

The Allure is expected to be released at the end of 2017 with a price tag of about $250
