Fluance has been making waves in the audio industry the past year. A few months ago they released their top-of-the-line Signature series HiFi speakers which are designed to bring audiophile sound to the humble masses. Now Fluance has just revealed a somewhat “unique looking” bluetooth speaker that partners a modern design with high-end features.

The Fluance Fi70 is a departure from the rest of their bluetooth speaker line-up. For starters, this thing is big. With the included stand, the Fi70 measures 3 ft. tall and tips the scales at a hernia inducing 81 lbs. The i70 is not a speaker that you’ll want to lug around with you.

When you take a gander at the i70, you can’t help but notice its unique shape. The rectangular shaped speaker has soft rounded edges with a square hole pegged in the center. Unlike most bluetooth speakers that have small drivers, the Fi70 utilizes dual 8″ woofers paired with two 5″ mid-range woven glass fiber composite drivers. High frequencies are handled by a 1″ silk soft dome neodymium tweeter. All of this is powered by a 280 watt amplifier. The end result is a speaker that has a frequency response of 30Hz – 20KHz.

Based on these specs, the Fi70 isn’t meant for use just as a bluetooth speaker. Fluance’s goal is for the unit to be used as a legitimate replacement for sound bars and full fledged stereo systems. In addition to Bluetooth with aptX, the i70 also includes an optical input, a USB input, an auxiliary input and an AM/FM radio.

The Fi70 available now and comes in three finish options black ash, bamboo, and walnut.
